Finally, my name is on the electoral rolls for Khairatabad constituency, Hyderabad. Don’t have the I.D yet, but will have to go collect it at the election office I guess.
Was extremely surprised when I saw blatant adverts for alcohol in this week’s Business World. I thought there was a ban on such advertisements.
My laptop is nearly back to normal from the s/w point of view, except for the battery after a messed up kernel upgrade last Saturday. Have to restore my Joomla website back to normal now. The battery is an entirely different matter altogether – it started showing me ‘Your battery might be broken’ message after I reinstalled Ubuntu Hardy and said the capacity is only 41%. When I started my laptop now, it showed only 29%! The hard disk is getting heated like crazy again (even with a laptop cooler with 3 fans). This apart from the existing problem of the webcam and fingerprint reader not being recognized. Man i’ve had it with this laptop – never never never buy a HP laptop. I guess I’ll have to buy a new bloody battery – another 2k down the bloody drain.
