What’s cooking at TripNaksha and an anniversary passed 2

TripNaksha has finally been launched formally. That meant sending emails to all my gmail contacts and putting it up on on the startup groups I am part of. Also did a brief demo at the Startup Saturday last weekend at IIIT. As expected the first few days saw nearly 200 visitors but it has falled down now. I got a lot of suggestions on what the next features should be and am trying to get as many in as possible. It’s not easy considering I get to work only after 7 in the evening every day, and i’m alone in doing all this. I have also been contacting some of the target groups (biking clubs, running clubs, adventure clubs, etc) and letting them personally about the website. Since the website depends on UGC, getting a core group of users who will keep contributing is essential. I hope more people contribute and make TripNaksha the one place you can rely on to get the best information about any kind of trip (in India for now 🙂 ).

It’s been more than an year since I ventured on my own. Have made quite a few mistakes, learnt many new things and made quite a few new friends. I do not know where I will be next year, nor do I have a plan. I have understood that making plans doesn’t really make sure that life will turn the way you planned it. There’s a lot of other gyan I can give on how to get out on your own, but there’s a ton of information already on the internet, written by people who think much better than me. And, no matter how much you read, it’s always about making your mistakes and learning from them…
